A national programme, that is bringing some of the best new and emerging acts from all over the world to libraries in the UK, returns to Hull at the end of this month.

BC Camplight will follow on from New York rockers Sunflower Bean, who sold out Hull Central Library in August in between appearances at some of the biggest music festivals in Europe.

BC Camplight, the creation of acclaimed New Jersey artist Brian Christinzio, is performing at the library on Sunday 25 November.

The gig is part of Get It Loud In Libraries, a national programme that aims to increase access, participation and engagement opportunities in libraries by delivering a highly inclusive and innovative live programme that showcases the best new and emerging music acts from around the world.

Councillor Marjorie Brabazon, chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome another incredible performer to Hull Central Library.

“Get It Loud In Libraries does outstanding work in bringing high quality, live music events to libraries in towns and cities throughout the UK.”

BC Camplight’s latest album, Deportation Blues, was released in August to critical acclaim. It follows on from his first release on label Bella Union, How To Die In The North.

BC Camplight is performing at Hull Central Library at 2.30pm on Sunday 25 November.

Tickets cost £12 each, and can be booked via https://ticketlab.co.uk/event/id/1970/BC-Camplight
