Hull Fashion Week 2016

Hull Fashion Week will be held from 16-23 April 2016, with a huge selection of businesses taking part in free events throughout the week, culminating in a catwalk finale at Hull Truck Theatre.

16 April: St Stephens – Launch Event - Expect the best from the high street at St Stephens' Own It Fashion Week launch event. With gorgeous models strutting their stuff in St Stephens' finest spring/summer trends, acoustic artists in the chill out zone, and a whole lot more.

18-24 April, 11am-2pm: Primark - Fashion in the Frame – Join in the fun with Primark and be in with a chance of winning a share of £1,000. Visit the ‘Fashion in the Frame’ promotions team, have a photo taken using the props from the Primark photo booth box, then upload it on social media to see if you’re one of the daily winners!  

18-24 April: Poorboy Boutique - Fashion students raid Poorboy Boutique’s warehouse and pick out vintage clothing to upcycle into their own collections, which will be sold in store. Student workshops on the Harbour Deck in Princes Quay, with a show of their work at 12pm on Sunday 24th April.

19 & 22 April, 11am-3pm: BHS/Salon Apprentice/Boots – Catwalk shows and demos in BHS, with hair design being provided by Salon Apprentice trainees and make-up by staff from Boots.

19 April, 5pm-7pm: House of Fraser – Beauty lock-in in store after hours. Feel like a VIP as you browse House of Fraser’s fashion lines, get your make-up done and hear from a beauty expert.

20 April: Independents Day – Independent retailers Bolo, Beasleys, Chinese Laundry and Prem showcase what they have to offer.

20 April: Cock of the Walk - Sheep to Suit – Demonstration of the processes of turning a fleece into a beautiful suit, including lots of hands on opportunities, visuals and a unique look at the back-to-basics side of fashion. With real sheep!

21 April, 7.45am-9.15am: Hugh Rice – Breakfast Networking Event – A chance to talk all things fashion and hear from a leading expert in their field, in the beautiful and dazzling surroundings of Hugh Rice Jewellers.

21 April, 4pm-7pm: Debenhams – Catwalk show, make-up demos and information on how personal shopping can help you to put an outfit together, based on your shape, size and colouring. Find out what suits you!

22 April: Hull Truck Theatre – A look round the wardrobe and an insight into how theatrical costumes are designed.

23 April, 12pm-4pm: Princes Quay – Visit the ‘Travel in Style’ holiday show hosted by Humberside Airport and Andrew Earle on the Harbour Deck, with discounts, savings and free prize draws to win holidays, on the day.  

23 April, 11am-4pm: Vintage Emporium – With a live DJ set and vintage singer playing throughout the day, keeping the vibe going. Poorboy Boutique are bringing their new concept 'Bag it Vintage'. Buy your bag and fill it with vintage clothing. Grab It - Fill It - Buy It! There are different size bags (small, medium, large and xlarge), each suitable for different groups of people. Shop together or shop for yourself. Prices are £5, £15, £25, £35 per bag.

23 April, 11am-4pm: Hull Truck Theatre - A variety of retailers, hair and make up stands, along with exhibitors and designers from Hull School of Art and Design. There will be various onstage interviews and demos throughout the day, exploring the world of Hull fashion.

Fashion Finale Catwalk Show - Outside the Albemarle Music Centre. Come and join us to celebrate the best styles our city centre retailers are showcasing for the Spring/Summer season. Expect to see gorgeous models showcasing focused trends with 'Spring Summer Colour Couture', 'Festival Chic' and special occasionwear. Djs and fashion presenters add to the catwalk buzz.
