National Elf Day is Here!

The 2010 Christmas campaign is being funded by Hull BID, the 3 shopping centres along with additional support from Hull City Council and the Bondholder Scheme.
The family of elves will be available to meet and have photographs taken with families and children, there is also elf helpers, balloon modelling, face painting, giant stilt walking elves and Christmas trees, Christmas carol singing, pipe band, brass band and live music from great local acts.
There is also a fantastic Christmas market on King Edward Street selling the best of local produce and Christmas gifts.
Highlights of the day include:

Festive face painter and balloon modeller 10am – 4pm
Solo artist Lucy Rhodes 12noon – 3.30pm
Stilt walking Christmas tree 12noon – 4pm
String Quartet 2pm – 3pm
Scottish Pipe band 11am – 1pm (playing at Shine Bar, Jameson Street)
Queen Victoria Square
Brass Band 12noon – 2pm
Solo artist Beth O’Grady 1pm – 3pm
Face painter 10am – 4pm
Stilt walker/balloon modeller 10am – 4pm
Pipe band 10am – 2pm
- Free Millies Cookies cookie decorating workshop in Princes Quay 11am – 2pm
- Santa’s World at Prospect Centre open 11am – 4pm
- Enchanted Hollow and ice fairy at St Stephen’s – all day
- Hull FC Airlie Bird will be roaming around the city centre between 11.30am – 1.30pm – Hull FC have sponsored this years Elf Trail map which is already proving popular so let kids know that Airlie Bird is around and if you see him interact with him and entertain families and children.

A planning application has been lodged for the repair and redevelopment of 61-63 Humber Street which houses Fruit, including the creation of a new, purpose-built and sound-proofed multi-arts performance venue, accommodated partly within and also extending to the rear of the building.
