A language services provider which has thrived since expanding into Hull in 2011 is saying thank you to the region’s business community and belatedly marking its 10th anniversary in the city by sponsoring the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce Expo.
AA Global has been a major backer of the Chamber’s International Trade Centre both financially and via its worldwide network of translators and interpreters since joining the organisation.
Historically the company has also been one of the lead exhibitors at Chamber Expo and now Kirk Akdemir, CEO and founder of AA Global, is supporting the return of the event, which takes place at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel at Willerby on Tuesday 7 June and is a highlight of the Humber Business Week schedule.
Kirk said: “We launched AA Global in Worcester more than 30 years ago and we chose Hull when we decided to open a northern office in 2011. That proved to be an excellent decision – the city and the region have been very kind to us and Hull is now the head office.
“Our team in Hull has expanded from two when we opened to more than 30 now and they support around 15,000 translators and interpreters around the world who work in more than 500 languages and dialects.
“Our partnership with the Chamber has helped us expand our client base in the public and private sectors and we have enjoyed some particularly significant contract wins during the last year, so we want to take the opportunity presented by the return of Chamber Expo to celebrate our milestone and to thank the people who have supported us.”
Businesses from both banks of the Humber have already booked trade stands and space is still available at special rates which include power supply and two packed lunches. Opportunities are also available for motor dealer displays at the entrance to Chamber Expo.
Phil Ascough, chair of the Chamber’s Hull Area Council, said: “AA Global is a great business success story and has become established as a main supporter of the Chamber, the regional business community and a variety of charities and other good causes since arriving in Hull.
“After the challenges of the last two years that support has never been more important and everyone at the Chamber is extremely grateful to Kirk for committing to Chamber Expo and to Humber Business Week.
“There is definitely an appetite among the business community to get out there again and we’ve got the perfect venue, with plenty of space for trade stands, speed networking and private discussions which will enable people to rekindle old contacts, find out what’s new and maximise the opportunities presented by Biz Week. That’s what Chamber Expo is all about.”
Attendance at Chamber Expo is free of charge for Chamber members and non-members. To book a trade stand call Janice Harrison on 01482 324976 or email j.harrison@hull-humber-chamber
