STAFF at Debenhams in Hull city centre are calling on members of the public to get behind them in supporting Dove House Hospice.
Various events are planned throughout April, including a ‘beauty club lock-in’ on April 30. Tickets cost £5, which includes beauty demonstrations and raffles at every beauty counter in the Prospect Street store, hair and skincare demonstrations, makeovers, spray tanning and entertainment from singer JD Adams.
All ticket money will be donated to Dove House Hospice and the theme of the event, which is part of Hull Fashion Week, will be summer holiday.
Rob Davis, sales manager at the store, said: “We are really happy to support Dove House Hospice. It’s a very worthwhile local charity and we hope as many people as possible will come along on the night.”
The beauty evening will be the culmination of events throughout April. There will be a collection in the store on April 5 and a coffee morning for staff on April 26. A raffle is also running throughout the month and Dawn Durham, cleaning manager at the store, has planned some of the fundraising events for the charity after her mother, Dorothy Hutty, died at Dove House Hospice in January.
Katy Wood, fundraising coordinator at Dove House Hospice, said: “We are really grateful for the support from everyone at Debenhams and their plans are sure to create a very fun month in the store. We hope members of the public will support them in their fundraising as much as possible.”
Tickets for the beauty evening are available from the store, or from Dove House Hospice in Chamberlain Road, east Hull.
