Do you have a great business idea that needs investment?
Do you have the drive and enthusiasm to make it work?
Are you prepared to swap some equity for investment?
Could you use between £1,000 and £50,000 to kick start your business?
If the answer to these questions is 'yes' then you may be a high calibre competitor to participate in The Investment Games to be run during Humber Business Week 2015.
Pepperells Solicitors, assisted by the University of Hull and five local business leaders, has organised a competition which will provide access to £50,000 of investment for Humber Region entrepreneurs who have a new business idea and the capacity to make it work.
After an extremely successful event last year, Pepperells Solictors is again running the Investment Games during Biz Week.
This a Dragons Den type of event, where anyone who has a good business idea can apply for funding and a package of business support services to help them get started in their first year.
They are looking for applicants now, and want Hull to be well represented. Full details are on their website www.pepperells.com/investment-games.
It is a great opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to get professional support from major companies like PWC, Barclays, Arrival PR, KC and, of course, Pepperells, as well as possible funding and mentoring from the Investors, who will be the ‘Dragons’.
The event will take place on 3rd June at Hull University, and anyone is invited to take part. In order to compete, you will need to complete an Application Form and a Business Plan, both of which are available to download from their website.
All Application Forms and Business Plans must be sent by e-mail to investmentgames@pepperells.com and received by 29 May 2015, after which time no entries will be accepted. No responsibility is accepted for entries which are lost, corrupted or incomplete.
Prior to Humber Business Week there will be a pre selection process to shortlist applicants. The shortlisted entrepreneurs will present their ideas directly to the panel of Investors on 3rd June 2015 in a closed session. The Enterprise Centre at the University of Hull will assist entrepreneurs with coaching and mentoring.
Following the presentation the potential Investors will ask questions based upon the presentation and the Business Plan and may then make offers to the entrepreneur for an investment in return for an equity share in the new venture.
Last year, two businesses were successful and are still running today.
