Food lovers will be treated to a festival of local delights when Prospect’s UPmarket hosts another special edition of its market, #FoodieFest, this week.
Food enthusiasts, or Foodies, from across the region will descend on Hull from Thursday August 7th to Saturday, August 9th to sample food from across the world as businesses unite as part of Yum! Food Festival. Alongside Yum! Food Festival, UPmarket will be serving up offerings from across the region as local traders serve up delicious choices in Prospect Street outside Prospect Shopping Centre over the three days from 9am to 5pm.
Visitors will be able to taste the authentic flavours of Mexico from strEAT’s El Taco Loco which is setting up a gazebo in Prospect Street for the festival and Caribbean street food will also be available. UPmarket organiser and Eden owner Eve Lomax said the FoodieFest will give visitors the opportunity to taste the best of homemade local foods. She said: “This FoodieFest will give food enthusiasts a taste of the best homemade foods from local traders.
“We will have food from across the globe as well, which is why we have teamed up with outlets such as El Taco Loco to provide something for everyone.
“Since we established UPmarket, we have continued to offer a range of fantastic products to shoppers while giving local traders a place on the high street in a busy city centre, so this special edition of the market will give local food producers and traders the opportunity to offer an excellent choice of delicious foods.”
Prospect Shopping Centre Manager Lee Appleton said: “After the success of the UPmarket Summer Bash as part of our 40th birthday celebrations, we are delighted to be hosting another special edition of this popular market. “August will see UPmarket getting involved in YUM! Food Festival - which has proven to be a very successful event in recent years – and we are looking forward to seeing what delicacies local traders have to offer.”
