Property developer Noble Invest and commercial property agent Garness Jones are giving Hull residents the chance to have their say on future plans for the city’s high street.

The two businesses have launched a public vote to help influence plans for the historic King William House, a key development located in the heart of the city.

With the potential to offer a selection of retail, leisure, and food and drink facilities, the vote has been launched to ensure the development delivers exactly what the people of Hull want, whether it’s a new cocktail bar, clothing store, sushi restaurant, deli, or beauty salon.

Shaun Larvin, director of Noble Invest, said: “King William House is a key development in the ongoing regeneration of Hull city centre, given its position between the Fruit Market, the old town, and the main city centre.

“If we get it right, it can become a central attraction, and we will only do that by listening to the people that will ultimately use the facilities.

“The results of the public vote will not only influence our thinking and planning, but also help us demonstrate to operators where the demand is, and what the people of our city want in King William House – it will be a powerful message to approach businesses with.”

Now live to the public, those who would like to vote can either visit the Garness Jones website or scan the QR codes printed on the front of the development.

Paul White, director at Garness Jones, added: “The development of King William House has the potential to bring a wide range of businesses to the city, new and old. If you’d welcome a household name that isn’t yet in Hull, or a much-loved local favourite, all you have to do is tell us your thoughts via our public vote.”

Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at Hull City Council, said of the initiative: “The council welcomes Noble Invest’s decision to regenerate King William House, and I personally look forward to seeing it progress. There are many opportunities for King William House and we are delighted that the company will seek the views of the public before deciding what will go into the unit.”

Located in Market Place, the former 1970s bank and office block is being regenerated as part of a multi-million-pound investment. With the ground floor now home to a Tesco store, the upper floors have been successfully converted into modern luxury apartments.

King William House is also set to be home to a groundbreaking new sports business initiative developed by The Federation of Sport. A technology-driven sporting entertainment centre, the initiative will provide a unique experience that combines sports coaching with socialising. Interested in being truly disruptive in the sporting space, The Federation of Sports boasts Paul Robinson, former England international footballer as its head of football and innovation.

The Federation’s decision to choose King William House and Hull as its home was rooted in a deep appreciation for the city’s vibrant sports culture and the historical significance of the development, believing it will enable the business to foster creativity, collaboration and transformation within the sports industry whilst also immersing itself in the rich heritage of Hull.
