The free English, Maths and IT courses that in2wrk deliver has contributed to the recent fall in unemployment numbers in Hull - according to the adult training provider.
in2wrk, who are now based on Prospect Street in the city centre, have equipped hundreds of Hull’s workforce with nationally-recognised Functional Skills qualifications in the last 12 months.
Since September last year, they have delivered almost 800 qualifications, which has vastly improved the chances of people finding sustainable and fulfilling work in Hull.
The growing adult training provider can also reveal that a massive 49.8% of the people they’ve coached through qualifications have earned themselves an apprenticeship, gone on to Higher Education or managed to find full-time or part-time employment.
Speaking about the impressive findings, in2wrk spokesperson Jack Johnson explained why the courses they offer really are having an impact on the drop in unemployment.
“We’re the experts at delivering courses that employers in the region are looking for when they’re interviewing for a job - English, Maths and IT,” Jack said.
“Without them, candidates can often get overlooked, even if they have good work experience for the roles they’re applying for.
“Our courses are totally free to eligible adults and the Level 2 qualifications we offer are equivalent to a A*-C grade at GCSE - so that makes them very desirable to people who want to upskill and, of course, the potential employers too.”
This year in2wrk moved to a much bigger premises on Prospect Street, so they could help even more people in the community to upskill and gain employment.
