As students return to college and university, Princes Quay is running an intensive Student Saver campaign across digital platforms, rounding off a week of online promotions, offers and prize giveaways, from 16-22 September. Students will then be able to enjoy a fantastic welcome weekend event courtesy of Drunk Animal and The Piper.
Students will be able to spot the latest bargains available in stores all week online, with a completely free mini golf extravaganza event at the weekend, including a bar managed by The Piper.
The ‘Dude, where’s my par?’ mini golf course will be open on 21 September from 12noon–6pm and 22 September from 12noon-4pm.
Made up of 9 holes, students will be able to compete in groups of four and putt their way around an array of course types that will feature holes from ‘Hair of the Dog’ to ‘Down in 10’.
Expect super-sized Pot Noodles to textbooks and dating apps – it's free and it’s a great way to welcome students to the city. The course will take over the Quayside level 1 floor space, with a mixture of stop-off points where students can sit down, chill and get a drink courtesy of The Piper.
Outside the course there will be live entertainment, prizes up for grabs and a live mural wall that’s perfect for student selfies. There will be a chill out zone for those who are waiting, and a pop-up bar located in ‘Take-out Town’ with benches, picnic tables and sofas. Students can get their hands on a range of prizes from much-needed toilet paper, to shop vouchers and tables at The Piper.
Students will also be invited to register for a FREE Princes Quay Student Saver Card which will give them access to exclusive discounts and super savings all year round. Discounts will be updated monthly and those interested can sign up for a card at www.princesquay.com/studentsavercard/.
John Magee, Centre Manager, said: “The PQ team are out and about at Fresher events and are looking forward to showcasing online the very best offers available for students, topped off with a great event at the weekend. We’ve got some fantastic savings across the Centre for students to take advantage of and we’d urge them to sign up for our Student Saver Card to be amongst the first people to hear all about the latest news and sales.”
Hull-based Drunk Animal Creative Studio have taken the lead on the design and delivery of the course and, after their success with the Zany Races event this summer, it’s set to be another win.
Calvin Innes, Creative Director said: “We're excited to bring another great activity to life on the bottom deck of Princes Quay, and it's everything you would expect from Drunk Animal. Our team has put together the most insane street-style mini golf course, complete with bar and photo-ops, so students can play a round and get a round in on the way. It's the perfect way to kick off the new academic year with a bang. It's golf... but not as you know it!”
