Queens Gardens hosts Playday Festival for children
30 July, 2019

Hull’s popular Playday Festival returns to Queens Gardens on Wednesday 7 August.

The 16th festival in Hull gets underway from 11am until 3pm and Queens Gardens will become a huge outdoor playground where children, young people and families can have a fun-filled day, taking part in the annual celebration of the importance of play.

A vast range of fun activities are on offer including bike try-outs, family yoga, donkey rides, crafts and baby sensory, and lots more.

Alison Murphy, Children and Family Services Director, said: “National Playday is a fantastic event and highlights the importance of play in children’s lives. Play is an essential part of every child’s life and is a big part of their social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.

“Playday provides an ideal opportunity for families across the city to come together to play and have fun. It promotes the benefits and positive impact that playing has on children’s mental and physical health as well as being a great free day out.”

All activities are free to take part in and there will be endless opportunities to build, make, create, balance, bounce, run, jump and play.

The event is organised and funded by Hull City Council.

Families can just turn up, as no booking or tickets are required.
