Some roads including Queens Dock Avenue, Wilberforce Drive,Hanover Square, Alfred Gelder St, Quay St and Lowgate, will be closed all day until 4pm, while many peripheral roads will be closed until around midday on the Sunday when the last runners are expected to pass through. The race starts in Guildhall Road which will be closed from the Saturday at 4pm. For a full list of closures click here.
The event starts at 9am and is expected to raise thousands of pounds for charity with up to 5,000 runners of all abilities taking part. The route runs from Guildhall Road to Victoria Dock, back onto the old Fruit market and waterfront before returning to the city centre.
City Centre Manager Kathryn Shillito said the event was likely to attract many people into the centre: "Many of those taking part will bring family and supporters so there will be lots of people walking around the city centre which will be good for local businesses. However, they should also take note of the road closures so they are not caught out."
