To help local families make the most of the summer time, St Stephen’s, Hull’s leading retail and leisure destination, is running a series of free ‘Sundays are Fun Days’ events throughout July and August.
Jim Harris, Centre Manager, explains: “Recent research shows that around sixty percent of parents worry about the cost of school holidays and keeping their children entertained over the six week school break. Parents will also spend an average of £450 over the summer just on keeping the kids occupied.
“Now it’ll be much easier to keep the kids busy every Sunday throughout the six week holiday at St Stephen’s. From Sunday 2oth July, we’ll be running a range of free, family-friendly events in the Centre on the ground floor just behind Krispy Kreme. We’ve got some fantastic children’s entertainers as well as loads of fun competitions, giveaways and prizes.”
Circus Avago will be the first act to launch the summer fun days. Kids (and parents!) can start the holidays by becoming a circus star. From 12 to 3pm, all the family can have a go at juggling, diabolo, unicycle, plate spinning, Chinese ribbons and lots more.
This will be followed on Sunday 27th July with the inimitable and locally-famous Bobby Bubbles – a real kids’ favourite.
Jim says: “Throughout the holidays families can enjoy free entertainment from magicians, clowns and the lovable Punch and Judy shows as well as Circus workshops and brilliant children’s entertainment shows from the well-known and hilarious Bobby Bubbles, Nutty Norman and Billy Biscuit!
“New for this year, we’re also bringing our very own Harry Potter! Dominic Li will entertain and amaze you with his special magic, right under your noses. This is a show not to be missed. Kids and parents will love it.”
The six week entertainment programme culminates with The Magic Circus on Sunday 31st August. Families can meet the Circus Ringmaster as well as Bobby the Clown and enjoy magic, levitation and juggling – all free thanks to St Stephen’s.
