VERY IMPORTANT PENGUINS ... AND OTHER THINGS.

Date: Thursday, 30 January 2014
Time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
The next BID Business Network event takes place at The Deep on Thursday, 30th January 2014.
Break the ice with other local businesses at this free networking event; a first class ticket to finding out about some Very Important Penguins.
Colin Brown, Chief Executive of The Deep, will speak about the Submarium’s new £750,000 exhibit that will soon see Gentoo penguins taking up residence in The Kingdom of Ice. Their brand new home is themed around an abandoned whaling port in South Georgia, Antarctica, where pioneering explorer Ernest Shackleton took his ship The Endurance in 1914 – crewed predominantly by mariners from Hull.
Before you hear about the penguins’ upcoming journey to Hull, our second guest speaker – David Hatfield, Station Manager for First TransPennine Express (North Humber & North Yorks Area) – will talk about the railways for Hull and what the future holds for rail transport in the local region.
The event will take place in The Endless Oceans Gallery at The Deep and will also feature a short update from HullBID City Centre Manager Kathryn Shillito. A complimentary drink and light refreshments will also be available.
