Santa might have a sleigh with reindeers … but the visitors to Hull will be travelling in style around the city centre in a specially decorated open-top vintage bus.
Working in partnership with EYMS, HullBID is funding a special bus service around the city centre for late night shopping on Thursdays. The vintage bus will easily bw identified as it will be decorated with Christmas lights and will travel around a route throughout the city centre.
Kathryn Shillito of HullBID said; “We wanted to support an initiative that would make it easier for the shoppers to visit different parts of the city which will aid the spread of footfall. We all know how difficult it is carrying heavy bags of shopping; the bus will help lighten the load. It will also be an attraction to families wanting to ride around the city on a vintage bus.”
The vintage bus service will be available commencing 22 November 2012 for late night shopping Thursdays in the run up to Christmas. The route will loop around the city centre every 20mins (begining on Ferensways) between 6pm – 10pm. The service is free to all passengers. Please see our route map.
