The event is taking place at different locations in the city centre including King Edward Street and Queen Victoria Square, while along Princes Dock Street there will be a tasting tent and a Chef’s tent, featuring cooking demonstrations and cook offs. A comedy night, Meat and 2 Veg, looks set to keep visitors amused, while live entertainers and street stalls will see the centre’s streets experience a real festival atmosphere.
The event is being funded by Hull BID with support from Hull Forward and organised by Fred Marketing. They are keen to include local businesses in their plans. Some options including having a stall in the Tasty Tent, a stand to sell goods and foods or the option to show off your cooking skills as part of a cooking demonstration. For more details about involvement call Emma of Sophie at Fred Marketing on 01482 227227 or e-mail: emma@fredquarters.co.uk.
City Centre Manager Kathryn Shillito encouraged businesses to get involved.
She said: "Those businesses in the BID area who got involved in our recent Fashion event gained real benefits from taking part, so we’re hoping that businesses with something to offer our Festival of Food and Drink will also come forward. We’ve got some great activities going on and we want local businesses to both be a part of this and benefit from it."
